THRIFT SCORE! (well...sort of...) April, 2007

Proving that it does not take a lot to make me happy and I can be sentimental over the most insignificant pieces of junk; here is today's thrift score-- Exhibit A) a vintage tin file box.
Size:3.25 x 3.25 x 5".
Color: Military Olive Drab, (with a miserable "Rainy Day Gray" color on the inside!)
Manufacturer :Unknown.
Date: Unknown (but 1965 thru 1971 would be a general pin-point).
I had one of these as a kid, and did nothing with it, but for some reason I loved having one! Today when I had found it ; I had realized that there are 101 uses for this and I'll list them all NOW:
Great storage for: bank receipts , credit card receipts, rubber bands, paper clips, loose change, business cards, small photographs, thumb tacks, buttons, cassette tapes (if you still have any!), jewelry, spools of thread, nail polish jars, stationary supplies (Scotch Tape, Crazy Glue, glue sticks,etc.-- I always loose my Crazy Glue ! )
Moreover, newly produced file boxes are cheaply molded plastic (think: TupperWare but cheaper) with hinges that wear out and break off (plus they're ugly with rounded corners and there is no weight to them).
