THRIFT SCORE, NOV. 2007
Today score was only slightly above average: 1) striped cloth shower curtain (that I can use on any window in my apartment...from the outside, nobody will know! -$6.00 . 2) a vintage wooden carved 6" Tiki -$1.50. 3) a Hanes Beefy long sleeved navy blue t-shirt ...with a hood. Never saw one of these before. In the winter, I prefer to dress in layers (no winter coats, I hate them!). This will provide a thin & workable layer! $5.00. 4) a Tupperware, uh, not sure.....upright square olive green container with a built in masher of some sort...got it for a friend that actually SELLS Tupperware and collects vintage Tupperware too ! $2.50. 5) a clear plastic file box. Could not resist for $1.00. 6) Three C.D.s! "Mika" sealed promo (with cut-out punch hole) . Mika is to Elton John and Queen, what Scissor Sisters are to Stevie Wonder. Poppy and slightly sanitized, but mindless fun ($2.00...would not spend a penny more on something this fluffy). "Garbage, Version 2.0" Where are they now? The follow up CD to their debut. A disappointment to many fans, but for $2.00, I'll find at least one or two good songs on there? "Blinker the Star" Alt band from the "Nirvana Era", I believe. Not certain what they sound like, for $1.00, I'll take that chance. TODAY WAS 50% DAY, so, TOTAL COST: $11.85 ! Good deal! *UPDATE-NOV.29,2007:I sold the tiki on e-Bay for $14.00....making this thrift haul; FREE!
